Book covers
Front covers for print and ebook, with the spine and back cover when the book is printed, and series designs that hold together.
Book covers, brochures & publications
Publications live on a shelf, a desk or a bulletin board, so they have to earn a second look. Gravitait Design creates book covers, brochures, posters and collateral for authors, universities, schools and nonprofits, backed by twenty-seven years of print production.
Including the Gem of the Golden Isles series for author Sandy Malone
A series needs covers that read as a set on a shelf or in an online store, while each book keeps its own mood. Books two, three and four share one type treatment and a consistent title lockup. The photography moves from a sunlit historic hotel to open salt marsh to a couple silhouetted on the beach.

Poster series and event promotion
A poster series built on athletic photography and four short commands: Get in the Race, Stretch Out, Dig Deep, Finish Strong. For the groundbreaking of the university’s new music building in Takoma Park, “Building to a Crescendo” used a blurred, energetic concert image to announce the event.

School collateral system
A school prints a lot: brochures, flyers and stationery, often produced by different people at different times. Bristow Montessori’s collateral uses bright, warm photography of children learning and a consistent colour system, so every piece is clearly from the same school.

Covers, interiors and everything printed in between.
